Have you been checking out any of fashion week so far? I find myself looking more at old fall collections than reviewing any of the new spring pieces, but these details from the Michael Kors Spring show caught my eye. As much as I love the gowns and the collections that present something exciting and interesting, at the end of the day I’m all about wearability and it’s something that Kors does really well. Plus I loved watching him as a judge on Project Runway—he always comes up with the most hilarious descriptions: “That looks like a transvestite flamanco dancer at a funeral.” Wait, what??
Luckily, none of his own looks this season were off the mark. When I see a great show like this one, I love to pick out the details of what made it so special and work those into my own everyday looks. I loved the giant, luxurious leather clutches paired with more casual materials, the wide leather belts and the messy updos that completed every look.
A little more note taking from the show + notes from me below.
I’m excited to say that I have an announcement next week (there seem to be a lot of those this month already, don’t there?) that I’m eager to share! I’m a little nervous about it but I think it will be a great step for me and this little business. I’ll be doing some leisurely September content planning this weekend before it completely gets away from me and I’m excited to dream about some fun fall projects and posts to put up in the coming weeks. Does September seem to be flying by for you, too? Hoping this Saturday and Sunday I can take a minute to catch my breath and enjoy some time with friends and family. I’ll be making these butternut squash and spinach shells that I linked to awhile back with our veggies from JBG (I love the pretty snapshots JBG make of their weekly boxes) and taking in some college football from the couch.
Have I told you that I’m training for a half marathon with my friend Meagan? I’m nervous because when I ran cross country in high school I would get terrible shin splints, so I’m just hoping that doesn’t happen this round—I really want to finish training! We’re at four miles right now which we’ll run on Saturday with our group. It’s always hard to wake up so early on a Saturday, but once we get out there with everyone it’s a really great way to start the weekend. Afterwards I always feel accomplished, happy, energized—and like I can eat whatever I want for the rest of the weekend and not feel guilty:) haha.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, wherever you may be! A
